Day 1
May 15
- From HOTEL THE CELESTINE KYOTO GION, start on foot: you are already well placed for southern Higashiyama rather than crossing the city first
- Go straight to Kiyomizu-dera, then work back down through Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka
- Grab a sweet stop at Mochi mochi while you’re in the Kiyomizu lanes — it’s right on this walk
- Cut via Yasaka Shrine into Gion so the whole first afternoon stays compact and atmospheric
- After dark, keep moving north toward Pontocho Alley and Kiyamachi-dori, then finish late at Ichiran - Kyoto Kawaramachi if you still have gas left
Day 2
May 16
- Start brutally early at Fushimi Inari Taisha, then come back toward central Kyoto before the city is fully awake
- Keep the late morning compact around Nishiki Market, Teramachi, and Kyoto Shinkyogoku Shopping Street
- For the most core Kyoto shopping experience, make downtown Kawaramachi the priority: Kyoto Takashimaya Shopping Center, Daimaru Kyoto, and the covered arcades around them. Treat watches as opportunistic browsing rather than the main mission
- Hard stop for your 19:00 dinner at Moko, then use the post-dinner window for Pontocho Alley, Kiyamachi-dori, and late Ichiran - Kyoto Kawaramachi only if you still want the full night shift
Day 3
May 17
- Keep Sunday focused on Kyoto Imperial Palace rather than a shopping morning
- Use the palace grounds for a calm final Kyoto walk before heading toward Osaka for your flight
- If you decide to duck back into Nishiki Market or Kyoto Takashimaya Shopping Center, treat that as optional extra time, not the plan
- Leave Kyoto with real airport buffer and treat anything extra you squeeze in as a bonus, not the core mission
