Day 1
Sep 19
Coxhill Camping - Dover
Drive: ~0-20 min depending on where you overnight around Dover.
Route logic: easy arrival night only.
Camper base: stay close to Dover so day 1 is simple and low-stress.
Take a short buggy-friendly walk around White Cliffs of Dover, then settle early.
Day 2
Sep 20
Coxhill Camping - Dover
Drive: ~1 hr 30 min to 2 hr from Dover area to Ashdown Forest.
Stop 1: move only as far as Sussex and keep the mileage short.
Camper base: overnight around Forest Row or Hartfield.
Use Ashdown Forest for an easy woodland walk, picnic stop, and relaxed family day.
Day 3
Sep 21
Wild Boar Wood Campsite
Drive: ~3 hr 15 min to 4 hr total if you do the coast stop and then continue west to the New Forest.
South coast transit day: leave Ashdown Forest, stop for a gentler section near Seven Sisters, and have a short wander in Lewes.
Instead of staying in Sussex, keep going and overnight in the New Forest.
This makes the route cleaner and avoids a one-night stop that doesn't really help the overall flow.
Day 4
Sep 22
Long Meadow Campsite, New Forest
New Forest base day: you should already be in the New Forest from last night, so keep today local and easy.
Drive: minimal local driving only, usually ~15 min to 45 min depending on which part of the forest you explore.
Camper base: Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst, or Beaulieu side.
Keep it simple with Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary and a quiet forest evening.

Day 5
Sep 23
Long Meadow Campsite, New Forest
Bath / Cotswolds day: use this as the missing in-between day between the New Forest and Wales.
Drive: ~1 hr 30 min to 2 hr from the New Forest toward Bath, plus a short onward hop into the Cotswolds.
Spend the day around Bath, then use Castle Combe as a pretty late-afternoon village stop.
Overnight on the western side of the Cotswolds / near the Severn crossing to make Wales easier tomorrow.
Day 6
Sep 24
Bath Mill Lodge Retreat
Drive: ~1 hr 45 min to 2 hr 30 min from your Bath / Cotswolds overnight into Brecon or Crickhowell.
Into Wales: this is now your proper entry into the Brecon / Crickhowell area.
Camper base: Brecon or Crickhowell.
Use Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons) for a softer mountain day with valley views and a short riverside or canal walk.
Good-weather alternative: keep it extra baby-friendly with a flat stroll around Brecon Canal Basin.
Poor-weather alternative: if you want an indoor stop instead, Big Pit National Coal Museum is the strongest museum-style fallback in this part of Wales.
Day 7
Sep 25
Talybont Farm Campsite
Drive: ~2 hr to 2 hr 30 min from Brecon area to Rhayader / Elan Valley.
Mid-Wales scenic day: continue north through central Wales in one scenic line.
Camper base: Rhayader area.
Make Elan Valley Reservoirs the focus for easy reservoir walks, viewpoints, and a very camper-friendly day.
Good-weather alternative: keep the day simple with short dam viewpoints and one easy reservoir walk rather than a longer outing.
Poor-weather alternative: use Elan Valley Visitor Centre as the fallback stop, then keep the rest of the day café-based and flexible.
Day 8
Sep 26
Elan Oaks - Camping & Caravan Site
North Wales base 1: use Betws-y-Coed as your first Eryri overnight.
Drive: ~2 hr 15 min to 2 hr 45 min from Rhayader to Betws-y-Coed.
For a calm 1-2 hour nature walk, use Llyn Crafnant or keep it shorter around Swallow Falls.
This is your forest-and-lake day before shifting west the next morning.
Poor-weather alternative: make this more of a village day with short café breaks and short river walks in Betws rather than committing to a full hike.
Day 9
Sep 27
Llys Derwen Caravan and Campsite Snowdon
North Wales base 2: now shift from Betws-y-Coed to the Llanberis side so the route keeps moving logically west.
Drive: ~45 min to 1 hr 15 min from Betws-y-Coed to Llanberis depending on your exact stop.
Pair Llyn Padarn with a 1-2 hour walk at Cwm Idwal if weather is decent.
This sets up an easier onward move to Beddgelert the following day.
Poor-weather alternative:National Slate Museum is the best easy indoor backup around Llanberis and works well with a baby because you can keep the day short and flexible.

Day 10
Sep 28
Llys Derwen Caravan and Campsite Snowdon
North Wales base 3: leave the Llanberis side and continue west toward Beddgelert.
Drive: ~35 min to 50 min from Llanberis area to Beddgelert.
For a manageable walk, combine Gelert's Grave with an easier section of Aberglaslyn Pass for about 1-2 hours total.
Add Portmeirion only if you still want a more touristy stop that day.
Good-weather alternative: if you want a proper beach stretch, Black Rock Sands is the easiest beach-day substitute in this part of the route.
Poor-weather / baby-friendly alternative: a short ride or station visit around Beddgelert Welsh Highland Railway is a good low-effort fallback.
Day 11
Sep 29
Forest Holidays Beddgelert
UNESCO day: from your Beddgelert side base, head north to Conwy for the World Heritage castle-and-walls stop.
Drive: ~1 hr to 1 hr 15 min from Beddgelert to Conwy, or ~1 hr 45 min if you include Aber Falls en route.
Visit Conwy Castle, then wander the harbour and old town.
If you still want one last 1-2 hour nature walk nearby, Aber Falls fits well on the way in or out.
Good-weather alternative: if you want a lighter family day instead of the falls, West Shore Beach is an easy beach option nearby.
Poor-weather alternative: keep it as a compact Conwy old-town day with the castle, cafés, and very short walks rather than adding another outdoor stop.
Day 12
Sep 30
Trwyn yr Wylfa Caravan & Camping Site
Long return day: use this as the bigger repositioning day from North Wales back across England.
Drive: ~4 hr to 5 hr total if you stop at Clarkson’s Farm on the way east.
Stop at Diddly Squat Farm Shop, then overnight around Oxfordshire / the northern Cotswolds rather than pushing all the way toward Kent.
This keeps the day full but manageable and leaves Oxford for tomorrow.
Day 13
Oct 1
Pebbly Barn Farm, Moreton-in-Marsh, Motorhome and Tent Campsite. Call to book.
Oxford + Dover push day: use the morning for a short wander in Oxford.
Drive: ~3 hr 30 min to 4 hr 30 min total including the Oxford stop and then the longer evening drive toward Dover.
After Oxford, keep heading east and sleep much closer to Dover so the final day is easy.
Keep extra stops minimal today unless you need groceries, fuel, or a quick break.
Day 14
Oct 2
Coxhill Camping - Dover
Drive: short final leg into Dover on 2 October, likely well under 1 hour if you stop nearby the night before.
Keep this one deliberately easy: breakfast, a simple drive, and arrive with margin.
