Day 1
May 11
Leave Tokyo around 09:00 and aim for the direct Fuji Excursion train from Shinjuku if seats are available; the late-morning direct option is the cleanest train plan to Kawaguchiko.
If the direct train is sold out, take a JR Chuo Line limited express to Otsuki and transfer to the Fujikyu Line for Kawaguchiko.
After arriving around late morning, walk or taxi to Lawson Fujikawaguchiko Town hall for the classic Mount Fuji convenience-store photo.
Rent bikes near Kawaguchiko Station, then ride the north shore toward Oishi Park with plenty of view and snack stops.
Mid-afternoon, head to Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway and continue to Tenjo Bell for the hiking piece.
Return to Tokyo by train in the evening, either on a direct Fuji Excursion if timing works or via Otsuki if you need more flexibility.
